Introduction

This Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging Degree aims to prepare students with the skills, knowledge, and competencies to work as diagnostic radiographers in Singapore or overseas. The course is designed to be responsive and relevant to the changing landscapes in modern healthcare and imaging practices aiming to produce radiographers who can effectively meet the service users’ need.

Graduates will be capable of reflecting on and analysing their practice about established theories and evidence-based research, for best practice and optimal service user experience. The graduate diagnostic radiographer will be capable of demonstrating professional responsibility and accountability, enhancing service delivery, and ensuring high-quality care for service users. They will be aware of their duties to their patients, colleagues, and employers through adherence to statutory and professional codes of conduct.

Graduation Requirements

To graduate, students must pass all prescribed modules and achieve 1,000 hours of clinical placement.

Local Qualifications

For GCE ‘A’ level Graduate:

Obtained at least a B grade at A-Level in 3 subjects which include a science-based subject (or equivalent), with an overall UCAS Tariff System score of 120-128 and at least C6 at O-Level in 5 subjects which include English, Mathematics, and Science.

For Degree or Polytechnic Diploma Holder:

A degree or local polytechnic diploma in the science field, with at least a GPA of 2.5. In addition, applicants should have one of the following qualifications:

  • At least C6 at O-Level in 5 subjects which include English, Mathematics, and Science; OR
  • Completion of local Polytechnic Foundation Programme with at least C+ for English modules.

Applicants must comply with statutory requirements so that they are eligible for registration as a radiographer upon qualification. Additional qualifications at diploma level or via Singapore career switch programme will be considered on an individual basis in consultation with the university admissions team.

English Language Requirement

Where English is not the applicant’s first language, an adequate proficiency in English must be demonstrated. This would normally be a minimum IELTS (Academic) score of 7.0 with no individual band score less than 6.5.
