This Bachelor of Science (Honours) Data Science aims to provide students with a comprehensive grounding in the knowledge and expertise expected of data engineers and data scientists. The curriculum is designed such that students are provided with a thorough exposure to the fundamental mathematical, statistical, and algorithmic principles underpinning data science.

This practical Data Science Degree provides students with current industry-standard software and hardware platforms and develop a competence in communicating technical findings to various stakeholders. Students will learn about the underlying tech in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, specialised programming languages used for machine learning and AI, and code their own blockchain using high-level programming language. Students will also develop the ability to approach problem-solving activities using mathematical and statistical insight, identify the most appropriate technical solutions using software and hardware and critically assess solution outcomes.

    Understand the tech behind blockchains and cryptocurrencies and code your own blockchain.

    Stand to enjoy module exemptions and possible completion of a UK honours degree in 16 months, with a relevant polytechnic or private diploma qualification.

Local Qualifications

Level 4 (Year 1) Entry

  • Successful completion of PSB Academy Certificate in Engineering Foundation or Certificate in InfoComm Technology; OR
  • Successful completion of PSB Academy Certificate in Engineering Foundation (ELearning); OR
  • Certificate in InfoComm Technology (E-Learning) with a minimum overall C grade and grade C in Foundation Mathematics module; OR
  • Equivalent qualification that demonstrates preparedness for study.

Level 5 (Year 2) Entry

  •  Successful completion of PSB Academy Diploma in InfoComm Technology, Diploma in Network Defence and Forensic Countermeasures, Diploma in Cyber Security and Diploma in InfoComm Technology (E-Learning) OR
  • Level 5 may also be possible on successful completion of a Diploma in STEM subjects including Mathematics modules from any of the following polytechnics in Singapore: Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic; OR
  • Other equivalent to UK BTEC Level 4 qualifications

English Language Requirement

  • GCE ‘O’ level English (grade 1 to 6) or equivalent; OR
  • IELTS of 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in any band); OR
  • Equivalent score on a test recognised by the University of Hertfordshire

  • 16 years old
