Upon successful completion of all required modules, students will be awarded the Master of Business Administration from The University of Newcastle, Australia. The degree awarded will be the same as that to the on-campus graduates
Maximum Candidature: The maximum candidature period for all candidates is 60 months (5 years).
There are two pathways in the Master of Business Administration:
1. Entry into the Master of Business Administration will be available to applicants who have:
• Bachelor (Honours) Degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification; or
• Bachelors Degree, or an equivalent qualification, in a related field such as
accounting, business, commerce, economics, finance, human resource
management, industrial relations, management, marketing; or
• Bachelor Degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, not in a related field and 1 year relevant organisational experience; or
• At least 7 years' relevant organisational experience, including 2 years in a management position; or
• Successful completion of 75% (30 units) of one of the following UoN Faculty of Business and Law programs:
o Graduate Certificate in Business Administration
o Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance
o Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management
o Graduate Certificate in Marketing
o Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting
2. The alternate pathway is through the Graduate Certificate (40 units) which will be available for the applicants who have:
• 3 year Bachelors Degree not in a related field; or
• 3 year Diploma in a related field such as accounting, business, commerce,
economics, finance, human resource management, industrial relations,
management, marketing; or
• 3 year Diploma not in a related field + 1 year relevant organisational experience; or
• 2 year Diploma in a related field such as accounting, business, commerce,
economics, finance, human resource management, industrial relations,
management, marketing, + 2 years relevant organisational experience; or
• 2 year Diploma not in the discipline + 3 years relevant organisational experience; or
• At least 5 years organisational experience
• IELTS ‐ 6.5 no subtest less than 6.0
• An applicant who wishes to enrol and does not speak English as a first language must demonstrate that they meet the University's English proficiency requirement.
