Introduction

This Bachelor of Commerce course gives students a strong grounding in business and economic principles, and they will learn core business development skills. Students who graduate with outstanding achievement as a top student in the graduating cohort will be awarded the Indrani Dasgupta Memorial Student Excellence Award.

Students will advance with any one of the following specialised majors:

  • Accounting: A major in accounting will prepare you to assess the financial validity and future of organisations, as well as its investments, acquisitions, taxation, opportunities and threats. Accounting students provide the management of an organisation with the tools necessary to make sound financial decisions.
  • Finance: A major in Finance will teach you about money management, with a focus on investments, trading, financial law and risk. The broad range of skills and knowledge as well as the international scope covered in a finance major will leave you work-ready for employment in global markets. Studying finance can lead to well-paid career opportunities, in an industry where a shortage of talent, combined with an ageing workforce, is driving growth in the job market.

Upon graduation, students will receive exemptions of up to 9 ACCA papers and may apply for

  • Associate membership with CPA Australia, and
  • Associate Member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA)

Students with a relevant diploma from a Polytechnic in Singapore, maybe eligible for up to 120 credits towards your degree. These credits can help you shorten the time needed to complete your studies.
