Introduction

The bachelor of business course helps students to establish a strong grounding in business principles and equips them with a set of core business development skills in their first academic year before they choose their major.

Students will advance with any one of the following specialised majors:

  • International Business (Single Major): Students will develop a deeper understanding of global markets, which is also highly valued in sectors such as finance, manufacturing, IT and energy and resources.
  • Leadership and Management & Marketing (Double Majors): Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of the complex structure and operations of organisations, while also learning strong planning and leadership skills. A major in marketing will also broaden your understanding about communicating with customers, as well as delivering goods and services that provide value

Students with a relevant diploma from a Polytechnic in Singapore, maybe eligible for up to 120 credits towards your degree. These credits can help you shorten the time needed to complete your studies.

Graduation Requirements

Upon successful completion of all required modules, students will be awarded the Bachelor of Business from the University of Newcastle (Australia).

Academic Requirements

  • GCE A Level (Minimum 3 subjects in H2 level or 2 subjects at H2 level and up to 2 subjects at H1 level); OR
  • 3-year Diploma from local Polytechnic; OR
  • PSB Academy Diploma in Business Administration; OR
  • Other diploma or equivalent qualifications would be assessed on a case-by-case basis

  • 16 years old

English Language Requirements (Language Proficiency)

All  Applicants  must  demonstrate  that  they  meet  the  University’s  English  proficiency  requirement. Further information regarding English language proficiency requirements can be found at the English Language Proficiency for Admission Policy.

Applicants who do not speak English as a first language must demonstrate that they meet the University's English proficiency requirement through one of the following methods:

  • English Language Tests
    1. GCSE - English Language or Literature
      IGCSE - A level English or Humanities
      Overall Score: Minimum Grade C
    2. IELTS Academic
      Overall Score: 6.0
      Section minimums are: 6.0 R/L/S/W
    3. TOEFL IBT
      Overall Score: 60
      Minimum Individual Skills Test: R: 13, L: 12, S: 18 and Writing: 21
    4. PTE Academic (GSE)
      Overall Score: 50
      Section Minimum: 54
    5. PSB Certificate in Academic English (PSB CAE)
      Students must  obtain  60%  or  more  in  each  of  the  4    Each  of  the  4  exams  is  of  equal weighting.

English language test scores must be less than 2 years old at the date of application to the University of Newcastle.
