Overview

Introduction

Our Foundation Certificate in Business provides an essential introduction to the world of business. Covering key topics such as marketing, economics, and communication, this course is designed to build your knowledge and develop practical business skills.

You can choose to sit for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) external examinations at PSB Academy as part of this course. The IGCSE qualification (equivalent to O-Level qualifications, grade for grade) can be used as an entry requirement to progress to the Certificate level, followed by a diploma in business, and eventually, a Bachelor’s Degree.​

By the end of this course, you will:​

  • Understand the key principles of business​
  • Develop practical skills in communication, decision-making, and problem-solving​
  • Experience in applying business concepts through individual and group projects​
  • Be prepared for the Cambridge IGCSE exams​

*Students have the option to sit for the IGCSE external examination at PSB Academy. They may use the IGCSE qualification as an entry requirement to progress to the Certificate level. Students must achieve an overall mark of at least 50% in PSB Academy internal assessments to satisfy our graduation requirements.

Modes of Assessment
Assessment of this course may include assignments, projects, online quizzes and external examinations. Cambridge IGCSE external examination sessions occur twice a year, in June and November. Results are issued in August and January.

18 months

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate, students have to:

  • complete and pass the modules stipulated in the course structure
  • fulfil attendance requirement

Academic Requirements

  • Obtained at least a pass grade at GCE ‘N’ Level (Grade A-D or Grade 1 to 5) in any 2 subjects or equivalent; OR
  • NITEC; OR
  • Mature candidates (≥ 30 years old with 8 years’ work experience); OR
  • Candidates with other qualifications will be considered as case-by-case basis

Minimum Age Requirement

  • 15 years old

English Language Requirement

  • GCE ‘N’ level English (Grade A-D); OR
  • IELTS  score of 5.5; OR
  • PSB Academy’s Certificate in English Proficiency Level 5; OR
  • PSB Academy English Proficiency Test; OR
  • An equivalent English language qualification
