Introduction

Globally, the total renewable energy capacity has quadrupled in the last ten years. In 2015, $286 billion was invested in renewables and, for the first time, more than half of all added power generation came from renewables.

This MSc course enables students to develop and critically analyse technologies and applications for renewable heat, power and transportation. The course is designed for engineering and science students that are interested in supporting the renewable energy industry as it continues its rapid growth to tackle the severe issues posed by climate change.

Students will learn how to apply their engineering knowledge to address requirements for cost-effective carbon reduction solutions and foster an understanding of the associated global socio-economic challenges.

Graduate career prospects span sectors including manufacturing, design, consultancy, and management.

Academic Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering course OR;
  • A relevant professional qualification of an equivalent level OR;
  • Students who successfully complete the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Mechanical Engineering or Electro-Mechanical Engineering degree at PSB Academy can progress onto the Master of Science in Renewable Energy Engineering

 

The following consideration with prior learning and work experience to adhere to the mature candidate route (30 years old and above) with a minimum of 8 years of work experience:

  • A lower qualification plus appropriate and relevant experience at a professional level.
  • Accreditation for prior learning (RPL) is in accordance with University regulations. The accreditation for Prior Experiential learning (RPEL) will only be awarded for achievements equivalent to masters’ level

Minimum Age Requirement

  • To be eligible for admission, students must be at least 18 years of age by the commencement date of the course in which students want to enrol, should application be successful.

English Language Requirement

Where English is not the applicant’s first language, an adequate proficiency in English must be demonstrated. This would normally be a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 or an equivalent English language test.
