Since I was a child, I’ve always liked robotics, and I found out that electrical and electronic engineering is the basis of robotics. This spurred me to pursue my studies in engineering.
Choosing to study at PSB Academy was because the school is in Singapore, which is closer to my home country, Indonesia. Coventry University is also a reputable UK university that offered engineering degrees. PSB Academy also provided a smooth progression from diploma to degree, allowing me to build my engineering groundwork at the diploma level, and pursue advanced knowledge at the degree level.
I love the curriculum at PSB Academy and Coventry University because it was short and concise. The modules are primarily engineering-related, and we only learn what we need to graduate and do well in our future careers. With a concise curriculum, the course duration was also much shorter than other institutions back at home, and I could get a degree faster than my peers.
Besides my academics, I have also participated in various student clubs at PSB Academy and served as the Vice President of IES and IET. The activities in the clubs expanded my networking opportunities. Overall, I have received an all-rounded education thanks to PSB Academy.
After my degree, I secured a role as a field application engineer at Supreme Components International. My job consists of technical support in terms of components/parts selection to fit customer needs. I applied the skills and knowledge from the fundamentals of electrical engineering, coding, project management into my current role. On top of that, networking and communication skills were equally important as I have to speak to various stakeholders.
