I was motivated to pursue higher education when I discovered my interest in data science while working with data in a prior e-commerce role. I realised that I could make predictions using available data, which sparked my passion for the field. I preferred a structured approach to learning data science skills, and a postgraduate programme seemed like the best option.
I found out about PSB Academy and the University of Hertfordshire through Google. I chose the Master of Science in Data Science due to the affordable fees compared to similar programmes and provided a good blend of theory and hands-on experience. The curriculum ensured ample opportunities to apply the theory learned in classes through various projects.
My learning experience at PSB Academy has been positive, thanks to the support from the faculty. They helped me understand the theory covered during the program, which I could then apply in different situations. I found my lecturers and tutors to be helpful and approachable whenever I had questions or needed clarification.
I gained valuable skills in programming, data analysis, and machine learning. These skills have been directly applicable to my current job, where I am working on a data mining and predictive analytics project.
To other students considering further education, my advice would be: if you have a strong interest in a subject, don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone.
