As someone who has always been passionate about multimedia creation, I knew that pursuing the Diploma in Media and Communications would allow me to explore my creativity and flexible thinking.
I was drawn to the programme’s wide range of career opportunities. My ultimate goal is to work in a theatre-related field, where I can bring stories to life through media. This Diploma course has been instrumental in aligning my interests with my aspirations. One of the most impactful modules was “Business Ethics,” where I learnt about virtual theory and its relevance to today’s digital consumers; learning how content creators build trust and reliance online has been eye-opening.
Other modules like “Television and Film Production” and “Sound and Radio Production” gave me a good understanding of TV show production and the technical aspects of creating engaging audio content. These experiences taught me invaluable teamwork skills and the importance of organisation.
I enjoyed my experience at PSB Academy a lot, thanks to the supportive and inspiring lecturers. I am especially grateful to Mr Aaron Rao and Mr Wong Kin Ching, who have inspired and supported me throughout my Diploma. Mr Aaron, our programme leader, is incredibly patient and open-minded. I remember a time when he spent half an hour answering my questions before his next class, guiding me to think from different perspectives. His dedication to each student’s success is truly admirable.
Mr Wong brought humour and energy to the classroom and his belief in our ability to surprise him with creative work was motivating. When I was working on a podcast about a musical, he patiently worked me through my thought process of organising the structure and putting together the content of my podcast, to keep it engaging for the audience. His feedback and higher standards pushed me to excel and see my work from various angles.
I strongly believe that one should never hesitate to ask questions and seek help. The support you receive can make all the difference in your journey.
Reflecting on my time at PSB Academy, I am filled with gratitude for the experiences and the incredible lecturers who have guided me. Their support has not only helped me grow academically but also personally, preparing me for a future in media and communication.
