Alumni Class of 2025
School of Business and Management

With 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, I now have a stable career as a Sales Manager in one of Singapore’s leading restaurant groups. To stay competitive and advance into higher managerial roles, I knew I needed to strengthen my industry knowledge with formal education.

I first came across PSB Academy through a YouTube ad and after doing my own research, I found that they offer part-time studies which allows me to maintain a healthy work-life balance while continuing my full-time job. The course covers practical knowledge that is related to what I do at work, and since it only takes a year to complete, it felt like something I could handle without too much stress.

During my Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management, I gained skills that I know will help me now and as I progress into higher managerial roles in the future.

I developed the ability to understand and adapt to evolving customer needs and expectations, which allows me to deliver a better overall experience. Along the way, I also gained deeper insights into various aspects of the F&B industry, particularly in improving how I communicate with clients and collaborate more effectively with industry peers.

One of the most rewarding experiences was a project as part of the Food and Beverage Operations module, where we had the opportunity to interview restaurant owners and entrepreneurs. They not only shared valuable business insights but also gave us a behind-the-scenes look at their farms, central kitchens, and restaurants, showing us the farm-to-table process and emerging food technologies. It was an eye-opening experience that deepened my understanding of industry trends and innovation beyond what I had learned in my job.

Experiences like this show how private education institutions like PSB Academy goes beyond traditional classroom learning, giving students real-world exposure and and keeping them updated with industry trends. PSB Academy keeps its curriculum up-to-date, like adding Esports Tourism and Event Management to this tourism diploma, which I believe will greatly benefit my juniors.

Private education can be a good option for those who wish to enter the workforce earlier to gain experience and exposure. Choosing PSB Academy was a right step I took to grow and upgrade my skills, for more progression options in the hospitality field.
