Introduction

Our Certificate in Media and Communications provides a strong foundation in media studies, mass communications, and new media.​

By the end of this course, you will:​

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of media and communication principles​
  • Develop media production skills applicable to the creative industries​
  • Understand mass communication and the role of mass media in culture​
  • Have the opportunity to progress to diploma and degree programs through our academic pathways​

O-Level or ITE graduates have a clear academic progression pathway towards a degree at PSB Academy, starting with a Certificate programme. Upon successful completion of a Certificate, you can choose to further your studies with a PSB Academy Diploma, and subsequently a Degree programme with one of our university partners (subject to entry requirements).​

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate and progress to our Diploma programmes, students have to:

  • complete and pass the modules stipulated in the course structure
  • fulfil attendance requirement

Academic Requirements
  • Obtained at least a pass grade at GCE ‘O’ Level in any 1 subject or equivalent; OR
  • NITEC/Higher Nitec OR
  • Mature candidates (≥ 30 years old with 8 years’ work experience); OR
  • Candidates with other qualifications will be considered as case-by-case basis

Minimum Age Requirement

  • 15 years old
English Language Requirement
  • GCE ‘O’ level English (grade 1 to 7) or equivalent; OR
  • IELTS score of 5.5; OR
  • PSB Academy’s Certificate in English Proficiency Level 5; OR
  • PSB Academy English Proficiency Test; OR
  • An equivalent English language qualification
