Introduction

The American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certified Personal Trainer Course (ACE CPT course) aims to provide students with the knowledge and understanding necessary to implement a safe and effective training programme. Its suited for individuals who wished to acquire certification to become personal trainers or competency in health, fitness and wellness.

The course adopts the American Council on Exercise (ACE) Personal Trainer syllabus to ensure that students are prepared for the ACE Certified Personal Trainer Certification Exam. The course covers relevant topics such as anatomy, physiology and nutrition, units essential for personal training.

Duration

The course duration is spread across 4 days, 8 hours each day. The lessons are conducted over the weekends. Students are required to complete a further 18 hours of online lessons.

Graduation Requirements

Upon successful completion of all required modules and online certification exam, students will be awarded the American Council on Exercise (ACE) Personal Trainer certification*.

*This certification is only valid for two years.To renew, candidates must undergo 20 hours or more of ACE-approved continuing education, current CPR/AED certificate and applicable renewal fees.

Academic Requirements

  • Completed high school or equivalent
  • Optional: A current adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) certificate*.

*The CPR-AED certificate is a pre-requisite for prospects who wishes to take the ACE examination upon completion of the course. It is not a compulsory entry requirement to enter the course.
